What is Business Alpha Nottingham ?

We all at some point consider life's big questions. Christianity has a lot of answers - but sometimes it's not easy to find out what they are. Business Alpha explains the key aspects of Christianity, in a professional, accessible way.

What is Alpha?

Alpha is a course developed by the Church of England that explores the meaning of life from a Christian point of view. There are currently over 35,000 registered courses taking place across 156 countries. To date some 2 million people in the UK and over 11 million people worldwide have been on Alpha.

Who is it for?

Business Alpha Nottingham is open to anyone, although it is aimed at people working in the Nottingham City area, who want to explore the Christian faith.

Who is behind it?

Business Alpha Nottingham is run by Christians from different churches who work in Nottingham . It has the backing of various Nottingham church leaders and churches, for example The Bishop of Sherwood and The Christian Centre, and of Christian organisations like Nottingham YMCA. See About Us

How much does it cost?

It is completely free. The costs are covered by donations from various sources, although people attending are welcome to give a donation to help with catering costs.

Do I have to commit to attend the whole course?

Not at all. People are free to come and go as they please. However, experience has shown that those who attend the away day and as many sessions as possible get the most out of the course.

How many sessions are there?

The course runs over 9 Friday lunchtime sessions. There is also a Saturday awayday focusing on the Holy Spirit, which people last year found helpful.

What if I don't agree with Christianity?

It doesn't matter. Attending Business Alpha is a bit like being a juror at a trial. The key is to go in with an open mind.

How long is each session?

55 minutes. We open with lunch at 1:00pm and finish by 1:55pm.

Where is the course held?

In the Council House on Market Square - the most central location in Nottingham. We have booked the walnut panelled Dining Room.
